Tips for Changing a Flat Tire

Sooner or later, every car owner experiences a flat tire. Unfortunately, flats can and do occur in inconvenient places, so to be able to change out tires yourself is a worthwhile skill to have. Here's a few tips to help you along.

First, make sure to find a safe, stable area in which to park your car. Once secured, loosen the tire's lug nuts before jacking up the car. After that, remove the lug nuts, wheel, and damaged tire and put on the spare tire. Make sure everything that you've removed is replaced and hand-tightened, then lower the car and fully tighten the lug nuts with a wrench.

Remember that spare tires are not a permanent fix, so be sure to follow up with the Volvo Cars Plymouth service department should you need to replace a flat tire yourself. Drive safe!
